Heck is the UK's last independant sausage-maker, priding themselves on small-batch production and farmers-market quality, And their packaging sits brilliantly with that: "Proudly Independant" and "Flavour You Can Swear By". Theirs is a family-run business and they're about to launch an employee-ownership scheme. You wouldn't know that they sell 360,000 sausages a day and appear to have successfully diversified into a meat-free range. Their site captures the youthfulness of their staff - half of which is under 30 - and their hands-on approach to the business.

The Good Little Company set out to make good little sausages AND change the world! Linking with charities like Christian Aid, they share 50% of their profits to support projects in Kenya and Malawi, funding immediate food relief as well as sustainable farming solutions.

Why should this matter? The next generation of consumers. Millenials. More brand-savvy, more relational, more aware of the power to make a difference.

"Virtually every day they see some evidence of the power of ordinary people to effect change, whether it’s using Twitter to foment a rebellion in the Middle East or using social media to compel a company to behave better.” AdWeek
